Swedish American Hall is a registered San Francisco historic landmark, built in 1907 by architect August Nordin. The space boasts beautiful Arts+Crafts style architecture combined with modern amenities, centrally located at SF’s bustling Upper Market/Castro border. Swedish American Hall contains unique event spaces and a speakeasy style bar, Cafe du Nord, that can be activated individually or combined for a multi-faceted event experience.

Stretching the boundaries of entertaining your guests, our historic mixed-use event space and live music venue in the heart of the Castro boasts four distinctively different spaces that can be leveraged upon in a variety of exciting combinations limited by the imagination.

From intimate rooms to host creative brain storming sessions, to our grand hall to bring the best minds together, the Swedish American Hall has you covered.

Our venue, an enclave of vibrant cultural patronage that is a bit exclusive, and a bit of a secret, accommodates 50 to 500 of your guests that would be thrilled by our unique offerings.

Capacities are estimates only.
Maximum guest count will be determined by the event flow and room layout. Banquet seating is based on 60” round tables seating 10 people per table. Our venue can accommodate up to 700 guests. However, due to fire marshall restrictions, total guest counts may vary based on event setup, furniture, etc.

Full 10 hour rentals include:

  • Basic wifi connectivity

  • Central heating

  • Post event janitorial

  • Vendor prep areas

  • On-site venue manager

  • Tables for up to 150 guests*

  • Chairs for up to 200 guests*

  • Built in A/V accommodations

  • Dimmable indoor lighting

  • Built in platform stage

* Ten 60” rounds, six 8’ tables, and 200 natural wood folding chairs. No linens provided. Please order all linens through your rental company. Labor charges of $250 + tax may apply for furniture setup.
